A few months away from the “decks”, but finally pulled a new mix together.
Lots of new tunes and a bit of an experiment as a friend suggested trying out a more relaxed sound by simply turning the BPMs down by a dozen or so across the board.
Certainly makes for a lazy house, late-sunny afternoon vibe (rather than a hands-in-the-air-at-midnight mood).
It does have some “edges” to it though ;).

NB2: Wondering where Escaper Tres got to? Held up in Record Company Clearance Hell on SoundCloud :(.
NB3: Action shot…

After a busy few months, thought it was time to put a new mix together - bringing in old faves alongside some new tracks.
Recorded live at home on Friday 7 November 2012. Mixed and edited using Ableton Live 8 on a laptop PC.
Track list (and the link to SoundCloud):
There are worse places to finalise it all - fireside mixing over a very chilly weekend :)

Some new tracks and a bit of an experimental switch in direction, meaning a change of name and style.
The latest mix isn’t particularly dark but is certainly not as accessible as some from the Audio Drivel series.
Hypnotic and progressive house, perhaps.
Probably has some of the tightest mixing managed to pull together so far. Would put it in the 11pm-1am period of a night out.
Anyway, recorded live at home on Friday 24 August 2012. Mixed and edited using Ableton Live 8 on a laptop PC.
Track list (and the link to SoundCloud):
The Audio Drivel series has evolved and sharpened greatly over the months, so thought about time to put together a final Best Of selection.
It’s certainly got the tightest mixes so far and probably the best collection of tunes.
Rather pleased :)
Recorded live at home on Friday 10 August 2012, mixed and edited using Ableton Live 8 on a laptop PC.
Here is the track listing (and the link to Soundcloud):
Someone pointed out that the previous efforts in the Audio Drivel series were perhaps lacking in Big Choons (as the saying goes).
Always been more of a progressive house-type spinner, but happy to try a different direction.
So, time to throw in some Faithless, UNKLE, Lusine et al.
It’s certainly more upbeat than the usual stuff. Almost “vocal” :).
Recorded live at home on Saturday 20 May 2012, mixed and edited using Ableton Live 8 on a laptop PC.
Track list (and the link on SoundCloud):
More mixing malarkey, here is the fourth outing of the Audio Drivel series.
Tighter and probably more accessible than Number 3, which was pretty intense in places, rather pleased this one.
Anyway, recorded live at home on Friday 19 May 2012, mixed and edited using Ableton Live 8 on a laptop PC.
Track list (and the link to the set on SoundCloud):
Change of tac on the mixing - opted for a very dark and slow-building set for the latest outing of Audio Drivel.
Begins with a stripped-down and reasonably well known vocal, then heads into some intricate and mid-speed house, before ending with a couple of, as they say, big tunes.
The UNKLE track Restless, in particular, is a monster.
Anyway, certainly the tightest set so far.
Here is the mix on Soundcloud. And the full track listing:
Latest effort in the series. A 1hr40m set, recorded in one take on Friday 27 April 2012 using Ableton on a PC laptop.
There are a few repeats from the Audio Drivel 1 - Warming Up mix, but essentially it is a mid-night (rather than midnight!) set with a few big choons thrown in.
Final track is a bit random, but it kinda works :)
Here is the mix on Soundcloud and the full track listing:
Finally got round to putting together a set I’d be happy to publish (after quite a few months of practice)…
Recorded live at home on Sunday 25 March 2012. Here is the track on SoundCloud (to fast forward through the rubbish bits!)…
Mixed and edited using Ableton Live 8 on a PC laptop.
